The community of Onankali in the Oshikoto Region witnessed a significant milestone today with the official opening of the Nambaza Shopping Centre, a modern retail complex aimed at boosting local commerce and improving access to essential goods and services in the area.

The Nambaza Shopping Center was officially inaugurated by Hon. Natangue Paulus Ithete, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade, alongside Dr. Abisai, Managing Director of Nambaza Group.

This development marks a new era of economic growth for Onankali and the surrounding villages, opening doors to greater opportunities and access to essential services.

Speaking at the event, Minister Ithete praised the initiative as a catalyst for rural economic development and job creation. “This investment is a bold and timely step towards inclusive economic growth. It brings services closer to the people and opens new avenues for small and medium enterprises to flourish,” he said.

The shopping centre, developed by local investors with support from regional stakeholders, features a range of retail outlets, a supermarket, and various service providers designed to meet the daily needs of the community. Adjacent to the centre is a newly constructed fuel station, providing much-needed access to fuel and convenience services for residents, farmers, and travelers along the regional route.

The Onankali community welcomed this milestone with vibrant cultural dances, spirited singing, and joyful ululation — a powerful celebration of unity and progress.
